I saw a commercial for ABCmouse.com while I was watching PBS with my daughter a couple of months ago. She seemed very interested, so I decided that we would try it out. I really expected her to lose interest after a few days. I was pleasantly surprised when , just 3 weeks later, she was graduating from the Toddler Time level. ABCmouse.com has so many different types of activities that she never seems to get bored of it. When she gets tired of following her lesson plan, she can explore the rest of the site. She can visit the library, and watch as the story is read aloud, listen to educational songs, do puzzles, play with her fish tank, or any other number of things to do.
Since she started ABCmouse.com, I have not only noticed improvement not only in the areas that the lessons target, but her computer skills have significantly improved. She has excellent control of the mouse now, and can navigate the site entirely on her own (and I must admit that it is absolutely WONDERFUL to be able to cook dinner in peace while she does her lessons) . I even put a bookmark on my browser so that she can even pull the site up on her own. I think we all know how important computer skills are today. You cannot go to school or (eventually) get a job without having at least some basic computer skills.
This is Laura's favorite part of the site . Here she can pick the activity she wants to do, so that even when she does get sidetracked from the lesson, I can be sure she is still learning.
What's the best part about ABCmouse.com though? You can try it FREE for a month to see how it will work out for your little ones. I can just about guarantee that you will be amazed at how much they have learned in that time.
