Frugal Mommy Christine has always been a dream of mine. Okay, maybe not that particular name, but I have always wanted to be a blogger, anyway.  I began taking it seriously around October of last year.  Since then, I have received amazing support and feedback from you, my readers, and FMC has grown faster than I ever could have imagined.

Now that I know that there are indeed people who want to read what I have to say, and to be a part of FMC, I have decided to start making three semi-major improvements on the site.

First, I have finally purchased a domain name, so instead of being FrugalMommyChristine.blogspot.com, the new URL will be FrugalMommyChristine.com.  Don't worry, the old URL will still work for now.

Second, I am going to be doing some layout changes.  Mostly I will be spending time organizing the navigation bar at the top of the page- the one with home, contact, etc.  This way everything will be much easier to find for you guys.

Third, I will be working on upgrading the looks of the blog by adding personalized logos and such.

Why am I telling you all of this?  I am telling you this because each one of these things is going to take a lot of coding, and technical know how. . . which I do not possess.  It is going to take me quite a while to Google everything I need to do, and there may be times when the site may not look it's best. I also may not have much time to do posts over the next few days as I sort through all of this.   I plan on having everything done by one week from today.

I may end up wishing I had paid someone to do this for me, but, alas, I am stubborn.  Wish me luck!

***I would love your input!  Tell me what you want to see in the future!  This is the time for any comments or suggestions you may have!  Want to see more reviews? More Kitchen Hacks? More Recipes? Giveaways?  Let me know in the comments below! If you don't have any suggestions, could you please tell me something you like or dislike about the blog?***

As a thank you for your patience and understanding, we will be having a launch party of sorts as soon as everything is finished.   There will be prizes, games, etc.

Thank You

~Christine~

  1. Blogging is really hard and taking it seriously is what is going to make you money. I wish I would have known all that from the beginning. Good luck and keep up the good work.

  2. It will be a lot of work to get your site just the way you want it. But it is so worth it in the end. The cool thing is that by doing it yourself you will be building skills that will help you to continue to improve the site as time goes on. Good Luck.

    1. That's one of the main reasons I decided to do the improvements and the domain transfer myself. I try to build new skills all the time, and this particular set of skills is a hurdle I have been looking at for a while now.

  3. Transferring to my own domain was the scariest thing I ever did - AND I had paid someone to do it for me and to handle the hosting. I couldn't access the backend of my site (just the wordpress stuff) and it was really fustrating. Eventually I ended up buying by own hosting. Now I can access my Cpanel to troubleshoot or tweak other things. I hate paying people, when I know I could have figured out how to do it myself but back then I was terrified of messing things up, now I have more confidence by playing around and trying different things!

    1. I am definitely more than a little intimidated, I have to admit. I am wanting to do everything myself so I know exactly how everything is set up. Thanks for the encouragement!

  12. I love to enter giveaways! Now that you have your domain I am sure you will be able to get lots of companies to sponsor giveaways for you. Anything with a .com is always better than .blogspot in my opinion. It makes everything seem much more professional- congrats! :)

    1. aw, thank you! That means a lot coming from a fellow blogger! You know, I bought the domain from GoDaddy for less than $2, and was able to do all the work to switch it over myself. . . in about an hour :) It's definitely a reachable goal. The layout and design changes are another story, but I am still spending less than $15 for the entire redo!

  24. Oh, don't worry about that things for sure you can do that. You also don't need to code since there are already free templates who are already ready, all you need to do is to edit html which is very easy. Good luck and i know you can do that :)
